Description
wood, red and black paint, white pigment, incised triangular patterns and grooved decor, symmetrically designed, curved pair of horns connected by crossbar, slightly dam., minor missing parts, abrasion of paint, cracks;
the Marka-Dafing live in the north central Burkina Faso. They migrated into the area from the north, bringing Mande-style carving with them, adding to their masks the red, white and black graphic patterns that are so typical of the many peoples of Burkina Faso.
