Description
wood, partly encrusted dark brown patina, remains of pigments, crowned by buffalo horns that are nearly closed on top, pierced around the rim, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion, small missing parts, metal socle;
resembling the “do muso” masks of the “Diula” people, which are stylistically related to the masks of the Senufo.
The object Zoomorphic mask “siginkura-ayna” with the object ID 3034474 was last part of the auction 72nd tribal art auction at March 9, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 302 achieved a sales price of EUR 3,500.
