Description
wood, dark brown patina, remains of polychrome paint, tubular protruding eyes, broad mouth, min. dam., cracks, small missing parts, traces of abrasion;
the female Wé masks were always singer masks, while the male ones could be dancer masks as well. Black means “dangerous” and “malicious” and is therefore the colour of the so-called “tegla”, the evil masks.
The object Zoomorphic mask with the object ID 3041827 was last part of the auction 85th Tribal Art Auction at March 4, 2017 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 213.
