Description

wood, dark brown patina, entirely decorated with geometrical ornaments, crowned by broad flattened ears/horns, pierced around the rim, traces of insect caused damage, small missing parts, metal socle;
the masks of the Winiama mainly depict bush spirits and spiritual beings who adopted animalic forms. The most frequently portrayed animals are antelope, buffalo, warthog, hornbill, hyaena and snake.
