Description

wood / three-part, rattan, pigments, original binding, carved handle worked into the reverse, handwritten inventory number applied on the back: “27.585”

Typical shield composed of three adjoining wooden planks, carved in relief on the front and painted on the reverse, joined together with rattan strips. The incised decoration features four pairs of concentric circles, separated by two compartments filled with vertical zigzag motifs.
