Description

wood, dark brown patina, red and white pigment, remains of original decor with plant fibre tassels (replaced in parts), a narrow slightly vaulted body, carved with three faces of ancestral spirits, two of them with their tentacular projections reminding of octopuses, four massive handles backside, old collection number “P.K.3” at the same place, slightly dam., missing parts (mouth, lower rim), traces of insect caused damage, rep. (plug-like projection on top)


The object War shield with the object ID 3036751 was last part of the auction 77th tribal art auction at June 28, 2014 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 61 achieved a sales price of EUR 600.
