redware pottery, black pigment remains, inserted eyes, the hollow body served as receptacle, rep. (lines of breakages recognizable on the inside);
dogs were looked upon as carriers of dead souls across the waters of the underworld towards the afterlife, which is surely the reason why dogs are the animals most often depicted by the Colima artists.
