Description

blackish brown clay, several motifs modelled in relief on the body of the vessel, lid in the shape of a disc-shaped head with ringed neck in the Kwahu style, min. dam., traces of abrasion;
for centuries the deceased of the Akan received a more or less elaborate decorated family vessel “abusua kuruwa”.


The object Vessel “abusua kuruwa” with the object ID 3035319 was last part of the auction 74th tribal art auction at September 7, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 195 achieved a sales price of EUR 800.
