Description

wood (frame and grip board), rattan, animal skin,
Elsen describes this type of shield as “very old and rare”. Only because of the resin layer on them, they could become much older than most of the simply braided shields.

The shields have large handle plates on the back, which are fixed with particularly decorative cord binding. The edges are trimmed with varan skin.
