light brown wood, matt patina, both hands in praying gesture, slightly dam., cracks, minor missing parts, traces of insect caused damage (standing figure), on plates;
people of the Himalaya create wooden deities for protection against invisible evil spirits. They were placed nearby natural founts, bridges, temples or on rooftops and serve to guarantee the well-being of the family, the village community and the living environment.
