middle brown wood, matt patina, party open worked, ornamental carvings, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion;
such decorative but eminently unfunctional oars have early souvenir trade status, though they are also reported to have been used indigeniously, perhaps as dance wands during canoe regatta festivities.
