Description

wood with lacquer coating, reddish-brown, egg-shaped, carved in semi-relief openwork, one with farmer and giant buffalo, the second one with various apes in trees, each mounted on small wooden base;
“ojime” are beads used as slides to tighten the silk cord joining “inro” (a kind of closure; e.g. for the commonly used lacquer containers) and netsuke.
