Description

light blue glazed stone ware, “ushebti” figure, light blue glazed stone ware, because of abrasion details hardly recognizable, wooden base, h: 6,5 cm; seated baboon, stone, with patina and remains of pigments, min. dam., missing parts (face, base), base, h: 4,5 cm; probably depicting the egyptian deity “Thoth”. He was often depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or a baboon, because the animals were sacred to him.
