the art of artificially plaiting natural fibres can be found especially on the Isle of Manus (Admirality Islands) and on parts of the Solomon Islands. The bracelets were mainly worn on the upper arm and were additionally adorned with leaves, flowers and feathers on festive occasions.


The object Two bracelets and a small bag with the object ID 3033047 was part of the auction 69th tribal art auction on June 2, 2012. The object with the lot number 36 achieved a sales price of EUR 120 with an asking price of EUR 100.
