Description

wood, brown patina, a) very rudely carved figure with block-like body and arms in “W” configuration, facial features marked by notches, unusual high towering openwork headdress, remains of painting, waterspots, h: 73,5 cm; b) a bit more accentuated carved figure with characteristic crown-like headdress and praying gesture, h: 61 cm, both figures min. dam., cracks, abrasion of paint;
both figures carved with plug-like projections at the bottom, for mortizing into a panel. The figures were part of the figural ensemble from an ancestor altar.
