Description

wood, brown patina, abraded facial features (through repeated feeding and washing procedures), base;
coming from the southeastern coastal area of the ancient Kingdom of Dahomey. The people who lived in this area carved twin figures for the death cult just like the Yoruba.


The object Twin figure “hohovi” with the object ID 3039785 was last part of the auction 82nd Tribal Art Auction at February 27, 2016 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 141 achieved a sales price of EUR 500.
