Description

wood, reddish brown patina, encrustations with red wood powder, remains of indigo blue paint, flat body with handle-shaped arms, typical characteristics of the Ede “ibeji”: the puckered face, as well as the lashes carved all the way around the eyes, slightly dam., traces of insect caused damage (right hand, at the back of the coiffure);
presumaby from the workshop of Agobunde of Ede from the Oyo area.


The object Twin figure “ere ibeji” with the object ID 3033212 was part of the auction 70th tribal art auction on September 8, 2012, lot number 334 at that time and is currently available for EUR 1,200 in Open sale.
