Theater mask

Description

wooden core, covered with gypsum, green grounding, painted in black and red, ornament (“nama”) on the forehead, ornamental arranged hair, bowl-shaped eyes, cord for fixing the mask with the mouth, dam., paint rubbed off;
the javanese theater as a whole goes back to the buffalo-skin figures of “wayang purwa”, especially on the round figures of “wayang golek”.
