The “mandau” was traditionally used when hunting heads, and as a machete in daily life.

The sword is kept in a wooden scabbard with a second smaller scabbard “apis” made of palm leaf attached to the back, in which an additional knife “piso raout” is stored. Complete with a rattan sling with a piece of bone as a clasp.
