Description

wood, shiny dark brown patina, metal tags, min. dam., cracks, small missing parts, traces of usage;
nonfigurative stools may have been predecessors of the figurative ones. In a reading of a Luba stool, the four supports constitute the “roads” leading to the king’s capital, represented by the platform of the seat. A seat is therefore a center of political power and sacred authority.

The object Stool with the object ID 3034878 was last part of the auction 73rd tribal art auction at May 25, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 390.
