wood, dark brown patina, round form, linear incised decor, crescent-shaped pierced handle, small missing pieces, traces of abrasion;
Mangbetu women used to carry stools with them wherever they went. But only Chiefs possessed two storied stools in order to sit on a higher level than the surrounding women.


The object Stool with the object ID 3033461 was part of the auction 70th tribal art auction on September 8, 2012. The object with the lot number 442 achieved a sales price of EUR 1,800 with an asking price of EUR 1,200.
