wood, dark brown patina, round form, stylized spider motif, min. dam., missing parts, cracks, traces of abrasion;
the spider motif is widely spread in the Cameroon Grassfields. The spider is a symbol for wisdom and plays an important role in truth telling. The spider lives in the earth and is said to have a close connection to the ancestors, who live in a world underneath the earth as well.
