Description

wood, partly encrusted brown patina, decorated with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic carvings, min. dam., minor missing parts, traces of usage;
stools with elaborate figurative scenes are designed as symbolic microcosm of life. Miniature masks are associated with ancestral influences, promoting wealth, fertility, and success in hunting. Other scenes relate to royal couples, partner selection, human fertility, and the process of initiation.


The object Stool with the object ID 3033146 was part of the auction 70th tribal art auction on September 8, 2012. The object with the lot number 394 achieved a sales price of EUR 750 with an asking price of EUR 600.
