Description
wood, blackish brown patina, a spherical intermediate piece, supporting a circular seat with triangular pierced handle, the rim with hatched decor, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion;
Mangbetu women used to carry such stools with them wherever they went, while Mangbetu men did not use stools. Chiefs possessed two storied stools in order to sit on a higher level than the surrounding women.
