Description

brown-green serpentine, red pigment, base

This life-sized mask depicts a human face. The eyes and mouth are openworked, and the earlobes are pierced. Two pairs of drilled holes at forehead level may have served for attachment.

The mask may have been worn during ceremonial occasions or used as a funerary mask.
