face with simplified features and chin beard, hole in the parting, rep. (breakage neck), traces of abrasion, small missing parts, wooden base;
the Kissi believe that these figures personated their forefathers. When a chief or another important person died the “pomdo” was buried in a rice field or next to a tree planted by the deceased.
