Description

soapstone with grey patina, sitting with crossed legs, the face resting in the left hand, min. dam., missing parts, slight traces of abrasion;
“ntadi” means guarding spirit. Such figures were placed on the graves of notables. The varying postures express different emotions.


The object Stone figure “ntadi” with the object ID 3034307 was part of the auction 72nd tribal art auction on March 9, 2013. The object with the lot number 412 achieved a sales price of EUR 3,000 with an asking price of EUR 800.
