Cupisnique ceramics are among the most refined works produced in early Peru.

Through incised vertical lines and “appliqué nobbins”, they gave the vessels a new structure reminiscent of feathers, tree bark or the surface of a mollusk.


The object Stirrup vessel with the object ID 3047206 was part of the auction 95th Tribal Art Auction on October 24, 2020. The object with the lot number 67 achieved a sales price of EUR 1,100 with an asking price of EUR 500.
