Description
wood, brown patina, black pigment, kaolin, hermaphrodite, “ichi” scarification marks in the forehead area, slightly dam., minor missing parts (right hand), cracks, rep. (right forearm), base;
traditional posture with hands-out, palms-up gesture expecting offerings and hospitality. “Alusi” represent tutelary divinities. Priests and worshippers collect them all together once a year in a sacred meeting house in order to venerate them.
