Description

wood, reddish brown patina, remains of blackish brown paint, small bundles of fabric filled with magical material and set with feathers on either side of the upper arms, slightly dam., cracks, filled with blackish mass (left side of the body), metal plate;
these figures served as containers for protective magical power exercised by the experts against illness, to avenge sorcery and for supernatural assistance in hunting.


The object Standing power figure “phuungu” with the object ID 3034340 was part of the auction 72nd tribal art auction on March 9, 2013. The object with the lot number 251 achieved a sales price of EUR 650 with an asking price of EUR 600.
