Description
wood, matt brown patina, male and female, the female with shorter legs and a more corpulent body, dam., missing parts through insect caused damage, cracks, base;
in the 17th century the Chamba settled south of the Benue nearby the Jukun. Statuettes of the Chamba are quite rare. The staff-like “tauwa” figures can be found more frequently. Present couple probably represents ancestors.
