This figure is the work of an unknown Atutu master.

It shows stylistic similarities with a portrait statue published by Hans Himmelhber in his standard work “Negerkünstler”.

Especially the distinctive hairstyle, but also the facial features, the form of ears and hands, as well as the shapes of the body show similarities (Himmelheber, 1935, p. 17, Tafel II, fig. 7 on the right / see also AHDRC 0058906).
