Description

wood, partly encrusted brown patina, sacrificial traces, slender body, the right hand grasping the chin, dam., missing parts (left arm, heel, foot tip), on base;
sad “bateba” (“bateba yadawora”) are not dealing with witchcraft. They directly contact the inhabitants of the house were they were kept on special shrines. They express deep grief with different gestures and adopt the suffering of their owners.
