A figure of the same artist, from the Barbier-Mueller collection shown at Schmalenbach (1988), p. 294, fig. 191.

Comparable figures from the British Museum London (AHDRC 0033661 and 0033650) were attributed to the Azande and located to the chiefdom of Yambio. It is possible they were made by Balanda artists who sought sanctuary in the court of the Zande king Gboudwe at Yambio.


The object Standing male figure with the object ID 3045622 was last part of the auction 92nd Tribal Art Auction at June 29, 2019 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 182 achieved a sales price of EUR 3,000.
