Description

wood, partly shiny dark brown patina, block-like closed contours and simplified forms, reduced facial features with drilled eyes, flat headgear, dam., missing parts (lower legs), traces of insect caused damage, slight traces of abrasion, base;
Bwaka sculptures are found almost in every home as well as in many ceremonial areas.They vary in size from personal charms to almost life-sized figures.They are placed on an altar each day and offerings are made to avoid misfortune.
