Description

wood, light- and dark brown patina, flat beard with toothed rim, drilled eye-sockets, dam., missing parts (both hands and feet), base;
the region of the Seno plain is a cultural mosaic shared by the Dogon, Samo, Fulani, Mossi and Kouroumba. The peoples of the plains were endlessly subjected to conflicts, raids and famines. Often they blended with their new overlords. Concerning their figural art a variegated mixture of styles was the result of that historic developement.
