Description

wood, encrusted brown patina, clumsy feet, a long neck with accentuated Adam’s apple, edged facial features, coiffure with knob-shaped protrudings, min. dam., minor missing parts (left foot tip), cracks, slight traces of abrasion, on base;
the Lulua live south of the Democratic Republic of the Kongo, to the west of the town Kananga, with the Kete in the north and south, the Pende in the west and the Songe in the east as neighbours. Although the Lulua are counted among those groups who came under the influence of the Kuba kingdom, they distinguished themselves by their artistic expression.
