Description

wood, reddish brown patina, remains of dark paint, accentuated eyes: tube-shaped protruding, inset with mirror glass, angled left arm with raised thumb, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion;
the “nkisi nduda” were not especially adorned. Of real importance was their magic effectiveness and their ability for fortune-telling. They were used for warding off witchcraft, diseases and thieves.
