Description

wood, encrusted greyish brown patina, sacrificial traces, the right arm raised aside the head, the left arm held tight to the body, slightly dam. (nose), cracks, minor missing parts (feet), sacrificial traces, base.
Present figure belongs to the type of “dangerous persons” (ti puo), they show a defense attitude, elevating one or both hands next to the head to block the house for invisible enemies. They are even more effective in fighting witches.


The object Standing figure “bateba ti puo” with the object ID 3042677 was part of the auction 87th Tribal Art Auction on November 11, 2017. The object with the lot number 135 achieved a sales price of EUR 700 with an asking price of EUR 400.
