Description

wood, matt dark brown patina, kaolin, aluminium eyes, metal earring, a large head without neck rising from massive shoulders, a concave vaulted face with accentuated dish-like deepened ears, block-like lower part of the body, thin arms, slightly dam., minor missing parts (ears), cracks, breakage (left wrist), base;
the Mwera are a small ethnic group, living in the coastal hinterland of Tanzania, to the north of the Makonde.
