Description

wood, brown patina, blackish blue paint (coiffure and feet), three strings with coconut discs, resp. glass beads, encrustations with camwood powder, the pupils inset with metal tags, eyes with triangular framing, visible teeth with filed incisors, vertical scarification marks on the cheeks, feet in high sandals, slightly dam., rep. with metal clamps (right foot);
in the style of the carver Dagikonle of Igbomole. A very similar pair of figures pictured at G. Stoll, 1980, ill. 192.
