Description

copper alloy, bronze, brass, carrying a child on the back, supporting a round flat bowl with flap lid in openwork design on the head, crowned by a rooster, patina, small traces of corrosion, minor missing parts in the cast, crack;
as a shrine sculpture, the mother and child with an offering bowl is well known throughout Yorubaland. The bowl could have been used as oil lamp.
