Description

wood, dark brown patina, glazed eyes with painted pupils, the head spread with a thick layer of clay-like mass with real hair, min. dam., slight traces of insect caused damage, base;
used for hunting rites and in connection with circumcision. But a symbolic relationship to manhood and virility seems to be given as well, for female figures like the present were used to be placed next to the entrance door of the hut of an elected bride.
