For a figure, possibly by the same artist, see AHDRC 0003179. Another figure, stylistically very similar, published in Bamert, 1980, p. 299.

Figures of this style are found in literature, but have been attributed to different groups (Turka, Mangbetu). According to Haselberger, who conducted field research in the Upper Volta region in the 1960s, these figures are to be located among the Guin.
