Description

wood, brown patina, slightly dam., insect caused missing parts (face, left arm, right leg), old repair (breakage: coiffure backside fixed by aglet), base.

The present figure belongs to the rare Dogon style known as “tomo-ka”. Originating from the plain of the Seno River where the Dogon mixed with the Bamana and possibly Mossi populations
