Description
wood, encrusted brown patina,, slender high-towering body, incised scarifications on body and face, crested coiffure (“gyonfo”), sacrificial traces (feathers), min. dam., cracks, insect caused damage (feet), slight traces of abrasion, base;
probably used by a Mossi ruler to represent his royal ancestors. It was placed on the shrine outside the entrance to his home where yearly offerings were made to royal ancestors.
