Description
wood, brown patina, encrusted with black and red pigment, cylindrical body with tube-shaped arms, head with crested coiffure and chin extension, dam., insect caused missing parts (head, base), pedestal;
presumably representing an ancestor, for ancestor veneration has a place of prime importance for the Kaka. It is supervised by “wantop”, one of the members of the chieftains counsel, within the framework of the liturgies of the “mbir” male secret society.
