Description

wood, shiny brown patina, white and red pigment remains, massiv upper part of the body with heavy breasts, neck carved with rings wearing a beaded necklace, facial features and coiffure accentuated by paint, min. dam., cracks, slight traces of abrasion, base;
like all the other peoples living in the east of the Ivory Coast, the Abron belong to the ethnic group of the Akan. In woodcarvings the geographic vicinity of the Baule to the west and the Akan/Ashanti to the east can easily be seen.
