Description

wood, light brown patina, black paint, self-confident pose: the right hand resting on the breast, the left akimbo, drilled holes for attachment of ear ornament, slightly dam., missing parts (both foot tips), traces of insect caused damage (heels, right side of the head), crack, abrasion of paint;
presumably a shrine figure, for minimal traces of white chalk can be found on the face. Figures in shrines were always covered with white clay to indicate their spirituality.
