Akan art is close to real life, concentrated on the here and now and therefore shows some aspects of court art. Accordingly this figure depicts a higher ranking female person wich is proved by the long ringed neck, the dignified posture and facial expression, as well as the thick plateau soles, separating the figure from the earthly ground.
